In 1938, Pope Pius XI sent a call to the United States Church for the promotion of citizenship and faith. Response to this call led to some of the first Catholic comic books which not only relate the concerns of the American Catholic in the 40s, 50s, and 60s but also proved to be very prophetic.

Marialectrix and Libravox have recorded several public domain Church history books and other classic Catholic texts including:
Eusebius’ History of the Christian Church – Eusebius was a bishop during the reign of Emperor Constantine and has been called the Father of Church History
The Pilgrimage of Egeria – one of the earliest accounts we have of the religious traditions practiced in the Holy Land by one of the earliest pilgrims who visited there
The audio books are free and great ways to come to know the spirituality of the Church.
