Hi Father Seraphim. That was a great story. We love how dig deep into the history of so many things.
A fellow Canadian and Catholic singer-songwriter, Blaise Alleyne has released several recordings of public domain Christmas carols, including Silent Night. Even more cool, he has deeded them back to the public domain, so they are definitely podsafe.

And none other than Bruce Cockburn, has released his version of Silent Night with permission to share on P2P, social networks and Podcasts http://www.truenorthrecords.com/share
