Podcast Tutorial
I have put together a ten minute podcast tutorial video and posted it over at Isidore’s Corner. The file is a bit large as the video is full screen but it gives all the basics for downloading, subscribing and listening to podcasts. If you want to watch it, just hope over here and download the file.
Libsyn functioning again
Apparently problems from Hurricane Wilma have been fixed on the server and so you can use the regular links for subscribing and downloading again.
Main Server Down
I have noticed that the Libsyn server where I store my podcasts is not working. So, if you are having problems please go to the alternate site below where you can get the last two podcasts. I’ll post a message when Libsyn is working again.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
#6 – Praying with Icons
This week we look more at the theology of the icon and the spirituality of the iconographer. Learn how you can integrate icons into your own prayer life. We will also be looking at St. Andrei Rublev, one of the most famous iconographers and his icon of the Holy Trinity as we take another trip to the Icon Corner.
There are a couple of good sources available for those interested in icons and iconography. Jim Forest’s book “Praying with Icons” and Maria Giovanna Muzj’s “Transfiguration” each offers some good advice on adding icons to your spiritual life.
On the Internet, you can find a good basic articles on icons and St. Andrei Rublev on Wikipedia. There is a good list of icon sites on the web at Icons and Iconography.

Our musical interlude is a Russian hymn – “O Gladsome Light” sung by the Monks and Metropolitan Choirs of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra from the CD Russian Orthodox Chants available from magnatune.com.

#5 – Vocations and Discernment
Click on the button to download the latest episode – or subscribe via iTunes, iPodder, Odeo, Yahoo! or your favorite podcast aggregator!
We’ve got another great show coming your way with an interview with Father Richard Davis TOR. Father Richard served as vocation director for the TORs of the Province of the Most Sacred Heart for eight years and now supervises the TOR affiliate program. He speaks on the state of vocations in the US, vocational discernment and what one might expect in following a vocation to the religious life and says lots of nice things about yours truly. [It always helps to interview one’s vocation director!]
We also have Anne Davis’s Awakening from Podsafe Music and some of my own advice for those seeking to discern a vocation to the religious life and/or priesthood.
For further information on discerning a vocation, I would suggest taking a look at the book by Fr. Michael Scanlan, TOR and James D. Manney – What Does God Want?
Some good websites to check out are:
VISION – Offers advice and information about religious vocations and links to various religious communities.
Vocations Online – Run by the Diocese of Joliet, offers information on religious and diocesan vocations.
Franciscans Friars, TOR – the official site of the Third Order Province of the Most Sacred Heart
If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them or e-mail me at seraphimtor@hotmail.com.
Again, thanks to all those who have subscribed or downloaded the podcast – the audience continues to increase and all thanks to God. Vote for me on Podcast Alley and help get the word out!
